Expert predicts that the Central Bank will maintain its key rate

VTB CEO Andrey Kostin announced that the key rate of the Central Bank of Russia will remain within 18 percent.

As Kostin pointed out, high inflation does not lead to good changes for the state.

On the air of the program " Moscow.Kremlin.Putin " the expert explained: "We need to fight strong inflation, otherwise it is a road to nowhere."

The head of VTB made this statement against the backdrop of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statements about the cooling of the Russian economy, which is experiencing overheating.

During the conversation, experts came to the conclusion that the average key rate of the Bank of Russia this year should be 17.1 percent.

In the September-December period, the figure is likely to rise to 19 percent.

Overall, the average expectations for the key rate for 2024 were 16.8 percent.
