It has become known about the huge fine that Apple received.

The brand owes €13 billion in taxes in Ireland.

RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the decision of the European Union Court in Luxembourg.

It is noted that the European Commission made a corresponding proposal to recover the above-mentioned amount. The decision was made back in 2016, but the final verdict was only approved now.

The agency found that Apple had been receiving illegal tax breaks from the Irish government. It looked at the period from 2003 to 2014, during which the country had not received the taxes it was owed.

Based on the court's ruling, the brand will be obliged to pay 13 billion euros. This is the amount at which the company's debt to the state was assessed.

At the same time, the General Court of the European Union had previously overturned the EC’s decision to collect this amount from the iPhone manufacturer.
