It has become known which products have begun to be counterfeited in Russia.
The production of counterfeit tobacco products imitating popular brands was discovered.
This information was provided by the RBC agency, which cited its own sources.
According to media reports, the counterfeit was manufactured at the Kaluga tobacco factory under the guise of the Marlboro and Kent brands.
The total value of the counterfeit products was estimated at 800 million rubles.
According to RBC sources, cases of counterfeit production and tax evasion were identified.
In connection with this, inspections were carried out at the Kaluga factory on August 1, and documentation was confiscated.
The security forces also seized the counterfeit products themselves, including:
- 6.2 million packs of cigarettes;
- 500 thousand counterfeit Goznak stamps;
- 300 thousand counterfeit excise stamps of Belarus.
The above-mentioned excise taxes and stamps were affixed to Kalipso, which is a Belarusian trademark, and is produced under the brands Marlboro, Kent, Rothmans and Korona.
