It has become known which British company will soon cease its operations.

We are talking about Tata Steel, which is the largest steel producer in the country.

This was reported by the Sky News channel, citing its own sources.

According to a media report, the last blast furnace at the Tata Steel plant, which had been producing metal there for a century, will be shut down on Monday.

It is noted that such a decision by the company's administration will affect more than 1,000 workers who were involved in production. As a result, people will be left without jobs.

The plant, located in the town of Port Talbot in South Wales, was a major centre for the ferrous metallurgy.

The company linked the shutdown of blast furnaces to the transition to more environmentally friendly formats of material production and the reduction of carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

According to preliminary data, the company will resume its operations no earlier than 2028, when it will completely re-equip its production for environmentally friendly electric arc furnaces.
