In Russia, insurance pensions will increase by 7.3 percent from January 1, 2025.
The information was commented on by Svetlana Bessarab, member of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy.
In an interview with Lenta.ru, she spoke about the expected increases in social benefits.
The Russian budget will be focused on social needs, despite sanctions.
Bessarab noted that the Russian economy ranks fourth in the world, which allows for an increase in social guarantees.
She emphasized that more than seven million working pensioners in the country will receive indexation.
Social guarantees and benefits for families with children will also be increased.
In connection with the increase in the subsistence minimum for children in the regions, social payments will also increase.
The benefit amounts to 50 to 100 percent of the subsistence minimum for a child or for an able-bodied person when a woman receives the benefit in the early stages of pregnancy.
In addition, maternal family capital will increase by 7.3 percent from February 1.
