Clients of several Russian banks have faced unexpected restrictions.
We are talking about credit card limits for several major players in the financial market.
This is reported by the Izvestia portal, which studied complaints from Russians about the recently emerged problem.
It is noted that some people faced unexplained reductions in limits in November-December of this year. In some cases, the amount was reduced by half and three times, and there were also cases of a 20-fold reduction (from 200 thousand rubles to 10) and a complete zeroing of the limit.
According to people, banks resort to such measures even without warning.
As Izvestia has found out, financial institutions resort to such measures in cases where clients have been late with payments or have a high debt burden.
Limits are also cancelled in cases where they have not been requested by clients for a long time.
The article summarizes that in anticipation of a possible increase in the key rate, banks are approving loans less and less often, since the debt burden of clients may increase after this.
