In a commentary to NEWS.ru, he noted that the increase in the recycling fee would play into AvtoVAZ's hands. In fact, this decision is being made in the interests of the Russian company.

The recycling fee in Russia is expected to double from October 1, 2024.
The measure will only affect imported cars, since domestic manufacturers are compensated for the recycling fee from the budget.
Today, the rate for cars with engines from 1.0 to 2.0 liters is just over 300 thousand rubles, and will reach 556 thousand rubles, and in 2025 it will increase to 667 thousand rubles.
