Austria has announced plans concerning its security strategy.
The document will include a clause on a complete refusal to use Russian gas by 2027.
The Austrian government's plans were reported by the Kurier newspaper.
As previously reported by Austrian media, Austria is still one of the importers of Russian gas. About 90% of all blue gold that enters the country is imported from Russia.
However, Austria does not intend to continue using Russian gas, despite existing agreements with OMV and Gazprom. These agreements will remain in force until 2040.
How Vienna plans to abandon the implementation of existing agreements remains unknown.
As the country's ruling party has decided, Austria plans to become completely independent of fuel supplied from the Russian Federation by 2027.
The new security strategy is at the final stage, as specified in the media.
