An expert shared with Russians his observation about why pensions are not enough for anything.

According to the analyst, the reason is that prices are rising faster than payments to the elderly.

BitRiver financial analyst Vladislav Antonov expressed this opinion in a conversation with Gazeta.Ru .

The expert recalled that on January 1, the country indexed pensions by 7.5%. Now pensioners receive 23,405 rubles.

As Antonov emphasized, this amount is not enough to ensure a decent standard of living.

Most of the money goes to paying for utilities and medicines. At the same time, very little money is left for food, which is why pensioners have to deny themselves many things.

Poor nutrition is one of the reasons why older people's health deteriorates, leading to even greater spending on medications.

Antonov sees a way out of this vicious circle in revising aspects of the pension system in Russia and, in particular, linking pensions to the growth of essential goods.
