The crisis in Abkhazia has forced the country to once again turn to Russia for help.
The Sukhumi authorities are asking Moscow to provide humanitarian aid.
This statement was made by the acting President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the head of state.
The acting head of state called Russia a strategic partner of Abkhazia.
In connection with this, Gknba appealed to Moscow with a request to provide his country with humanitarian aid in the form of electricity.
A representative of the Abkhazian authorities stressed that the state hopes to receive approval from its partner as quickly as possible.
Electricity situation in Abkhazia
Let us recall that from November to April the country experiences a serious electricity shortage due to its high consumption.
As measures, the authorities are introducing power outages and are also forced to purchase energy resources from Russia.
However, in 2024, the 15 million rubles that the electricity transfer costs the country were not included in the budget, so the country is looking for ways to obtain the necessary energy in other ways.
