Pearl barley is guaranteed to be airy if you soak the grains for several hours.
However, you can go another way, namely, cook pearl barley in a special way.
So, you need to put the cereal in a saucepan, then pour water over it. Leave the porridge to cook over high heat. When the water boils, reduce the heat to medium and cover the container with a lid.
You can add salt to the porridge either at the beginning of its preparation or towards the end.
