At first glance, it seems that there is nothing complicated in making compote.

However, this statement is not entirely true, because sometimes the resulting drink turns out tasteless and watery.

Why does this happen? It turned out that two common mistakes of housewives are to blame for such an outcome.

Correct these mistakes, and then your fruit drink will be no different from the store-bought one.

Take note

First of all, take into account the fact that compote should not be cooked over too high a heat.

When the liquid boils, reduce the temperature and continue to cook the fruit drink for no longer than 15 minutes, without allowing it to boil.

If you add honey to the compote, do not do this during the cooking process.

First, let the drink cool down (its temperature should be close to 40 degrees Celsius), and then throw in a spoonful of honey.

Earlier we talked about how to understand that jam has irreversibly spoiled and it’s time to throw it in the trash.
