Cast iron cookware has recently made a deserved comeback in kitchens.
However, many housewives simply do not know that iron cookware is not compatible with some foods.
Culinary expert of HERE NEWS, cook and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova will share with you her observations on what dishes you should refrain from preparing.
What you shouldn't cook in cast iron cookware
First, give up the idea of frying fish on a cast iron surface. You risk leaving a crispy crust on its surface, and it will be quite problematic to wash the cast iron after this manipulation.
The uniqueness of cast iron cookware lies in the porosity of the material, therefore, there is a risk that all other dishes will develop a fishy taste.
It is also not recommended to cook eggs in cast iron, as they will definitely stick to its surface.
You also can’t simmer acidic sauces or cook dishes with wine in cast iron because it oxidizes.
