Recently, questions have been raised more and more often about the benefits of bars and muesli.
Many of these products contain sugar, palm oil and other ingredients that affect their health benefits.
Inna Pichugina, chief nutritionist at the Moscow Region Ministry of Health, told Radio 1 about this.
She explained that the snack should contain mostly slow carbohydrates.
The doctor recommends including in the diet foods with minimally processed components, whole grains, seeds or nuts.
She also advises avoiding additives with flavor enhancers, artificial colors and flavors.
The nutritionist suggests preparing snacks yourself from buckwheat, oatmeal, dried cranberries, dried apricots, and prunes to increase their benefits.
However, Pichugin recommends consuming even homemade snacks in moderation, as they can be high in calories.
