If you want to make your food more appetizing and juicy, then prepare bread sauce - a dish that is a favorite of the British.

This sauce is easy and simple to prepare, using readily available ingredients.

Ingredients

To prepare the sauce you will need the following list of products:

  • milk - 600 ml,
  • butter – 50 gr.,
  • onion – 1 piece,
  • garlic and thyme - to taste,
  • peppercorns – 6 pcs.,
  • bay leaf – 1 piece,
  • breadcrumbs – 100 gr.,
  • cream – 4 tbsp,
  • grated nutmeg – to taste.

Method of preparation

Ready to make some sauce? Then put on your apron and let's get started:

1. Pour milk into the frying pan. Add butter, pepper, thyme, finely chopped onion, chopped herbs, garlic.

2. Simmer the contents of the pan for about 20 minutes.

3. Strain and then return the liquid.

4. Add the breadcrumbs and simmer for a few more minutes.

5. Pour in the cream and add a little nutmeg.

6. The sauce is ready! It goes well with meat and vegetables. It can be served hot or cold.
