Certain foods can have a significant impact on your blood cholesterol levels.

Nutritionist and deputy director of the ANO Scientific Center “Healthy Nutrition” Alexey Kabanov identified three groups of products whose consumption should be limited.

He explained that these products can contribute to an increase in cholesterol levels and affect the functioning of the heart, writes Lenta.ru .

Kabanov said the first group includes foods high in saturated fat.

Consumption of meat and sausage products, fatty meats, and whole milk can lead to an increase in the level of harmful cholesterol in the blood.

The nutritionist included sweet products with added sugar in the second group.

Excess sugar in the diet also contributes to increased cholesterol.

Kabanov advises reducing sugar consumption by choosing products with low sugar content.

The third group, as the doctor explained, is associated with a lack of healthy unsaturated fats in the diet.

Therefore, you need to add fatty fish, olive oil and walnuts to your diet.

Kabanov emphasized that maintaining a balanced diet will help significantly reduce the risk of high cholesterol.
