The popular belief that cinnamon and coffee will speed up weight loss has not been confirmed.
Adding cinnamon to your coffee may slightly reduce blood sugar levels and hunger, but it will not help you lose weight.
This information was provided by Evangeline Mantzioris, a practicing nutritionist from the University of South Australia, writes The Conversation .
She explained that it would not be possible to lose weight this way.
According to the doctor, cinnamon's ability to speed up weight loss has been studied in research.
One of them found that consuming 1.5 grams of cinnamon per day could reduce waist circumference by nearly 1.68 cm over several months.
However, overall weight loss will be minor.
Mantsioris noted that cinnamon helps glucose penetrate the body's cells faster.
The efficiency of the hormone insulin increases due to this. As a result, fat breakdown accelerates slightly and the feeling of hunger weakens.
However, the spice does not directly accelerate fat burning.
The nutritionist stated that there was no compelling evidence that the combination of coffee and cinnamon accelerates weight loss.
