People hear from different sources about the benefits and harms of this or that food all their lives. The information is often so contradictory that it creates a wrong opinion about food.

Some foods and products have little to do with health benefits, but are perceived as essential for health and longevity.

Yogurt

A fermented milk product that comes in a variety of flavors. It is filled with iodine, magnesium, zinc, most vitamins and many other substances.

It is generally accepted that it strengthens bones, regulates the gastrointestinal tract, and cleanses the body of toxins and waste.

And this is true. With just one amendment: natural yogurt without sugar and additives is healthy.

The rest is harmful to health. Ideal yogurt should consist of starter and milk. You can add nuts, honey or fresh berries to it yourself.

Ready-to-eat breakfast cereals and muesli

According to advertising, ready-to-eat breakfast cereals and delicious muesli are the best first meal for anyone who cares about their health.

The products are indeed convenient, but they also have negative aspects. First of all, they contain a high content of sugar, syrup, various fillers, dyes and caramel.

Needless to say, such components have a negative effect on weight, skin quality, sugar levels and bowel function.

Nutrition experts advise buying muesli without additives, improving it yourself with honey, dark chocolate, berries and fruits.

Kissel

A childhood product, actively promoted in kindergartens and schools as a source of vitamins.

And this is partly true, because berries and fruits added to jelly retain their properties even after short-term heat treatment.

The drink is also said to fight cholesterol, pathogenic bacteria and improve peristalsis.

However, all the benefits are negated by starch. This carbohydrate is contraindicated for people with obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Soup

A dish that only a small number of people have been delighted with since childhood. The first, as the soup is commonly called, is cooked in broth and vegetables.

This undoubtedly makes it useful, saturating it with vitamins, collagen, minerals and other substances.

However, it does not prevent the occurrence of gastritis and improve the condition associated with it, or normalize the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, as is commonly believed.

If you don’t like soup, you can safely replace it with other dishes without fear of harming your health.

Egg white

For intense exercise, it is recommended to consume egg whites for their protein content.

But this does not mean that you need to give up the yolk, because it is an active source of biotin, a substance necessary for excellent growth of nails and hair, and restoration of the skin.

By separating only the egg white for food, one can deplete the biotin supply, which will eventually lead a person to seek alternative supplements to replenish it.

Many foods and prepared meals are not as healthy as they are commonly believed.

They can be replaced with other foods containing a higher percentage of minerals and vitamins, organic acids and essential antioxidants.
