Juice or compote – what is healthier to drink

Packaged juices, having barely appeared, immediately gained enormous popularity among the population (especially among children).

The tempting inscription “100% juice” is displayed on every second pack (which is what many store shelves are made of).

And these boxes themselves are so cheerful, bright, colorful... Your hand just reaches out to them.

People drink these "natural" drinks with great pleasure, but they don't even think for a second about where the juice producers got so much fruit?

After all, at least 5 kilograms of fresh fruit will be needed to obtain just one liter of real, not store-bought juice!

Production facilities will be completely ruined by the huge amount of raw materials, and it will be impossible to grow such an unheard-of volume.

Therefore, on sale under the name "juice" you will mostly find only "nectars" with 40-60% juice content, and dubious "drinks" where the share is even less - only 10%.

According to research, juices that can rightfully be called "completely natural" can still be found on sale, but they are simply sky-high in price. Therefore, not everyone can afford to buy them.

The unnaturalness of most store-bought drinks is also proven by the fact that they add (in addition to the main part - water) a lot of sugar and various unknown preservatives.

This entire mixture makes up 70-80% of the total volume of the packet. In addition, the fairly long shelf life of all purchased juices distinguishes them from real ones, which cannot be stored for so long and will spoil.

Of course, you can visit a cafe or restaurant and order some fresh juice there to set the mood (which they will squeeze right before your eyes), but enjoying it often will cost you a pretty penny (they are very expensive).

But is there a drink that can replace store-bought juice without harming your health? Of course there is! And it is a regular homemade compote. Any housewife can easily make it.

Moreover, every woman has her own unique recipe. And what kinds of compote do not exist! Apple, pear, grape, cherry, currant, apricot, dried fruit... you can't list them all! And in just 15-20 minutes you will get a very healthy drink that will perfectly quench your thirst and give our body an excellent boost of energy.

Compared to store-bought juices, which contain an excess of sugar, compote is a low-calorie product. Agree, its 20 calories are simply nothing. Therefore, absolutely everyone can enjoy it, even people with various chronic diseases.

Children over six months old can also (and even should) be given compote without fear: it will not bring anything other than the necessary benefits to our children.

True, this drink does have one drawback - a short shelf life: it can be kept in the refrigerator for only 2 days (maximum), and then quickly begins to mold, since the fruits and berries from which it is brewed contain a lot of natural sugar.

Although compote is much healthier and more natural than store-bought "juices", most people buy mainly the latter (due to the desire to quickly quench their thirst, as well as the convenience of the packaging). But it is still better to buy them as rarely as possible or drink regular water instead.
