Spaghetti is often cooked in every Russian family, because this type of pasta goes well with meat and sauces.
And if you still prefer to break them before putting them in boiling water, then it's time to get rid of this habit.
Culinary expert of HERE NEWS, cook and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova will tell you why this method of preparing spaghetti is banned in Italy.
Why You Shouldn't Break Spaghetti
The length of spaghetti often forces housewives to break it in half before cooking.
However, according to a special Italian technique, doing this is strictly prohibited.
By breaking the structure of the finished product, you spoil the taste of the future dish. The pasta will change its shape, so the pasta after cooking may have different sizes.
Moreover, short spaghetti is not as easy to handle as standard-length pasta. The thing is that its length is just right for convenient winding on a fork during eating.
All these rules do not apply only to Ziti pasta. It is intended for slicing and is used in the corresponding Italian recipes.
