A beautiful, slim figure is not only beautiful, but also fashionable.

It is very difficult for overweight people to find clothes that they like. They have to buy what is available.

It is difficult for them to arrange their personal life. After all, the first thing the opposite sex pays attention to is the figure and appearance.

And having pulled ourselves together, we try to lose weight: we visit fitness clubs, swimming pools, walk more, eat right.

But it all goes to waste when we break down and overeat at night. We have a healthy breakfast, lunch too, but in the evening we can't cope with our weakness and eat everything.

Naturally, this causes great harm to the figure and health too.

Is it harmful to eat before bed?

It has long been known that eating at night is very harmful. Several years ago, nutritionists recommended not to eat after 6 p.m.

Now these recommendations have changed a little, but the essence remains: eating before bed leads to weight gain. Now we will try to figure out why this happens.

The human body is designed so that it must rest at night. This applies to all organs, including the digestive ones. Let's imagine: the stomach is preparing for a night's rest and then heavy food begins to enter it in the form of fried potatoes, salad with mayonnaise and pies.

Naturally, the stomach can no longer work at full capacity and food is not fully digested, which means it is not beneficial.

But that's not all: when we eat foods high in carbohydrates before bed, our glucose levels rise.

During the day we are active and it is quickly used up. At night during sleep, naturally, it has nowhere to go. Insulin actively begins to be secreted and breaks down glucose, turning it into fat reserves.

Why do you feel so hungry in the evening?

Many have probably noticed that during the day it is easy to stick to a healthy diet, it is easy to give up unhealthy food, but as soon as evening comes, we are ready to "eat an elephant".

Experts have identified several reasons why this happens:

1. Undereating. If you limit yourself in food during the day, then hunger will definitely overtake you in the evening.
2. Lack of nutrients. When you exclude certain foods from your daily diet, your body experiences a lack of important nutrients. The body begins to demand and replenish them. This happens during single-component diets.
3. Stress. Many people, when they are nervous, start to eat away their problems.
4. Boredom. In the evening, when you have free time, out of boredom you start chewing something in front of the TV or reading a book.

So once you figure out the reason for your evening eating, it will become easier to combat it.

If you're bored, find something to do in the evening. If you eat chocolate to relieve stress at work, replace it with healthy sweets, such as dates.

Instead of regular tea, drink mint tea. If you don't have time to eat normally during the day, make it a rule: "war is war, lunch is on schedule."

Is it possible to eat after six?

As we said at the beginning, such recommendations were given by Soviet nutritionists. Current specialists think differently.

The most important thing is not the time we have dinner, but how many hours are left before bed. The interval from eating to sleep should not be less than three hours. That is, if you had dinner at 8 o'clock in the evening, then you should go to bed no earlier than 11 o'clock.

It would be ideal to eat your largest daily meal before 3:00 PM. In this case, your figure will not suffer.

What can you eat before bed?

If you can't overcome yourself in the evening and want to eat something, then try to make it healthy food. It is especially necessary to have a snack for those who go to training in the evening.

Foods you can eat late at night:

• whole grain bread, bread with coarse bran;
• vegetables, nuts;
• muesli with low-fat yogurt;
• oatmeal with soy or almond milk;
• low-fat cheese, cottage cheese, kefir; boiled chicken breast.

Be healthy and beautiful!
