These marinade recipes are designed for 2 kilograms of meat and are suitable for various types of meat: from chicken to lamb.

Our expert, 4th-category chef Yulia Arkhipova , shared seven marinade recipes that will make your shashlik unforgettable.

Onion marinade

Onions are a key component of most marinades, adding rich flavor to the kebab and reducing the need for too many spices.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g onions;
  • salt - to taste;
  • ground black pepper - to taste.

- Preparation: Chop the onion to a puree, salt and pepper the meat, add the onion and mix thoroughly. Before frying, lightly pat the meat dry.

Kefir marinade

Meat marinated in kefir becomes especially soft, and the spices give it an excellent aroma.

- Ingredients:

  • 1700 g onions;
  • 1 ½ tablespoons hops-suneli;
  • salt - to taste;
  • ground black pepper - to taste;
  • 1700 ml low-fat kefir.

- Preparation: Chop the onion, add spices, then meat and kefir. Mix and leave to marinate under the lid.

Marinade with mineral water

Carbonated mineral water makes the shashlik juicy and tender, and the garlic and spices make it aromatic.

- Ingredients:

  • 500 g onions;
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil;
  • 1 ½ tablespoons barbecue seasoning;
  • salt - to taste;
  • ground black pepper - to taste;
  • 5 cloves of garlic;
  • 1 liter of carbonated mineral water.

- Preparation: Mix onion, oil, spices and garlic with meat, pour in mineral water and leave to marinate.

Mint marinade

Mint gives the meat a refined aroma and piquant taste.

- Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ tablespoons barbecue seasoning;
  • salt - to taste;
  • 3 bunches of mint;
  • 500 g onions.

- Preparation: Sprinkle the meat with spices, layer with mint and onion, leave to marinate.

Tomato marinade

Tomato juice gives the meat softness and a beautiful color.

- Ingredients:

  • 500 g onions;
  • 1 tablespoon barbecue seasoning;
  • salt - to taste;
  • ground black pepper - to taste;

3-5 cloves of garlic;

1 ½ l tomato juice.

- Preparation: Mix all ingredients with meat and leave to marinate under the lid.

Marinade with mayonnaise

Mayonnaise makes meat aromatic and juicy.

- Ingredients:

  • Onion, mayonnaise, curry, salt, pepper.
  • - Preparation:
  • 300 g onions;
  • 500 ml mayonnaise;
  • 1 tablespoon curry;
  • salt - to taste;
  • ground black pepper - to taste.

- Preparation: chop the onion in a blender, mix all the ingredients with the meat and leave to marinate.

Beer marinade

Beer imparts a light malty flavor to the meat.

-Ingredients:

  • 500 g onions;
  • 3 cloves of garlic;
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander;
  • 2 teaspoons paprika;
  • salt - to taste;
  • ground black pepper - to taste;
  • 750 ml of beer.

- Preparation: Mix onion, garlic and spices with meat, pour in beer and leave to marinate.
