According to this recipe, you can stuff tomatoes any way you like, but in this article we will look at three of the most delicious filling options, based on which you can create your own variations of filling for this appetizer.
Stewed tomatoes greek style
So, the ingredients you need are:
- 4 tomatoes;
- 3 medium cloves of garlic;
- 3 or 4 tablespoons olive oil;
- 1 bunch of any greens;
- 1 pinch of sugar;
- Salt (at your discretion).
As a result, you will get as many as 6 servings. Now the stages of cooking this snack:
1. Take out all the above products onto the table.
2. Cut the tomatoes in half and remove the stems. Then place them in a frying pan with a high side (this will be more convenient) and pour in the required amount of olive oil.
3. Lightly sprinkle the laid out tomatoes with sugar and salt. Then place the crushed and chopped garlic and herbs on the tomatoes.
4. Sprinkle each tomato half with oil and place them on the fire. Wait until the oil boils, then cover the saucepan with a lid and turn the heat to medium.

Stuffed tomatoes with hard cheese and garlic or Italian-style tomatoes

Ingredients:
- Large tomatoes 6 pcs.;
- Hard cheese (grated) - 210 g;
- 3 or 4 tablespoons mayonnaise;
- 3 cloves of garlic;
- A few pinches of salt;
- A couple of pinches of crushed black pepper;
- Greens of your choice.
You only need lettuce leaves as a serving. This method of cooking stewed tomatoes is good because it does not require any special time or effort on your part.
Step-by-step cooking recipe:
1. Prepare the ingredients and cut out the hard core from each tomato.
2. Grate the cheese and set it aside for now.
3. Next, add well-pressed garlic, freshly ground pepper to the bowl with cheese and pour mayonnaise over it all. The ingredients should be thoroughly mixed.
4. Cut the tomatoes into rings no less than half a centimeter wide. Carefully place the tomatoes on a saucer and distribute the prepared filling over the tomato slices.
5. Usually only one spoon of cheese-garlic filling is placed on each ring.
6. The appetizer is ready, you didn’t even have to fry it.
Baked tomatoes called "Senor Tomato"
Ingredients required:
- 5 medium tomatoes;
- 1 onion;
- 190 g minced meat;
- Half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon;
- A couple of cloves of garlic;
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon;
- 2 tablespoons ketchup (or better yet, tomato paste);
- 55 g rice;
- 90 ml broth;
- Several small sprigs of dill (preferably fresh);
- 2-3 tablespoons oil (vegetable);
- Parsley and mint to your taste.
1. For this dish, most of the ingredients are store-bought minced pork.
2. You need to make some kind of cups from the tomatoes (the filling will be in them). You don’t need to throw away the pulp, you will need it soon. Carefully distribute all the sugar over the tomato cups.
3. Finely chop the onion and garlic cloves.
4. Fry the chopped onion and garlic together with the minced meat, stirring constantly for several minutes.
5. Place the remaining tomato pulp in a frying pan and add raw rice and tomato paste (ketchup).
6. Cook, stirring regularly until crumbly.
7. Next, mix the mince with the greens and put it into the tomato cups. Place the tomato cups in a baking tray and add a little water, then cover the tomatoes with the lid (you cut it off at the very beginning) and bake the future snack for about half an hour.
