Dumplings are a mixture of flour and eggs, which are boiled in salted water.
Dumplings are most often added to soups to add nutrition, but they can be served as a separate dish, sprinkled with fried onions and drizzled with homemade sour cream.

We suggest you prepare potato dumplings according to a traditional Polish recipe, which will be a great breakfast or side dish for the whole family. Polish dumplings are beautiful and very tasty, so be sure to treat your loved ones to this delicacy!
To prepare Polish potato dumplings you will need:
- Potatoes – 700 gr.
- Egg - 1 pc.
- Starch – 2/3 cup.
- Flour – 3 tbsp.
- Sour cream.
- Salt.
Peel the potatoes and wash them very thoroughly.
Cut the potatoes into small pieces, cover with water and boil until done.
When the potatoes are soft, drain all the liquid and mash them with a masher.
Cool the mashed potatoes a little, add salt to taste and one chicken egg, mix.
Add starch and flour to the puree and knead with your hands into a thick potato dough.
Knead the dough thoroughly – it should be dense and not stick to your hands.
From the resulting dough, form small balls and make indentations in them with your finger.
Place the prepared dumplings on a floured surface.
Add a little salt to the boiling water.
Place the dumplings in boiling water and cook for 5-7 minutes – they should float to the surface.
Remove the finished potato dumplings from the water, place them on plates and serve with sour cream and fried onions and lard.
