Cooking dumplings is quite easy: you just need to throw them in a saucepan and wait until they are ready.
But sometimes housewives make mistakes when preparing dumplings, including with regard to water temperature.
Chef Yulia Arkhipova explained what kind of water is the right way to throw dumplings.
What should water be like?
Some housewives throw the dumplings into boiling water. However, this is a mistake that affects the taste and shape of the dish.
If you throw frozen dumplings into boiling water, they will boil over and start to burst.
It is also important to take into account that there is starch on the surface of the dough.
When it gets into hot water, it starts to stick together. As a result, the dumplings will simply stick together.
Therefore, frozen dumplings should be thrown into warm water. Its temperature should not exceed 50 degrees.
How to cook correctly
For 500 grams of dumplings you will need one and a half to two liters of water.
Place the water on the fire and add a few bay leaves and a couple of peppercorns.
Salt should be added to taste. After the water has heated to the desired temperature, add the dumplings.
It is also advisable to stir them so that they do not stick together. Dumplings need to be cooked for about ten minutes.
