Before cooking, meat or fish must be defrosted.
But sometimes housewives put these products back into the freezer after defrosting.
Chef Yulia Arkhipova explained whether it is possible to refreeze meat and fish.
Can I put them back in the freezer?
Meat or fish should be cooked immediately after defrosting.
These foods should not be re-frozen.
Otherwise, various bacteria may begin to multiply in them.
Also, meat or fish must be defrosted properly. They cannot be left on the table, especially in hot weather.
To defrost them, place them on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator.
What else shouldn't be frozen?
It is better not to put sour cream, yogurt, soft cheeses and mayonnaise in the freezer.
After all, freezing will not have the best effect on their taste and shape.
Avoid placing foods containing gelatin in the freezer.
Some vegetables and fruits do not tolerate freezing. It is not recommended to freeze cucumbers, zucchini, potatoes, eggplants and tomatoes.
