When a raw egg floats, it says a lot.
In particular, this fact indicates that the product is far from fresh.
Culinary expert of HERE NEWS, chef and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova will tell you what to do with such products.
Why does an egg float?
If an egg floats during cooking, it indicates that there are voids under the shell. However, this is not what makes the product dangerous.
The worst thing is that old eggs may have already begun to decompose, and therefore it is not recommended to eat such a product.
The easiest way to check the freshness of eggs is to put them in cold water, and everything will become clear right away.
Fresh eggs sink immediately, those that have been lying around for 10-15 days hang for a couple of seconds before reaching the bottom. And if the egg floats, then its expiration date has already come to an end.
But if the egg floats to the surface after boiling, then it is definitely spoiled.
