Not all design moves look as good in reality as they do in photos.

Some interior design solutions will add hassle and deprive the home or a specific room of coziness.

Designer Yulia Tychino spoke about 4 such disappointments in a conversation with the online publication TUT NOVOSTI.

When everything is theoretical, it may seem like a really good idea. But in practice, things turn out differently.

This can be said about a glass bathtub enclosure. It looks neat and stylish, but there are 3 arguments against it.

Firstly, the width of the bathtub is small, so there is a possibility that the person taking a shower will have to periodically hit their elbow against the glass. And this is the risk of breaking it, which is the second reason not to install glass.

Thirdly, water hardness can turn beauty into ugliness. You will have to regularly wipe the surface if the water is hard, otherwise the terrible plaque will ruin everything.

Shower curtains have come a long way in evolution and today you can choose quite interesting options. It is better to rest your elbow on a soft curtain than on glass.

A similar miscalculation is associated with wall-to-wall mirrors in the bathroom. All the same splashes of water will add work during cleaning.

Another design failure is doors in the same color as the walls. Firstly, it is more expensive than regular doors. Secondly, even the most durable paint will wear off, and the surface will accumulate dirt. The resulting abrasions will make you regret your choice.

Soft chairs in the kitchen are only for very neat people who do not cook at home. In practice, this can be imagined, but not always. For example, if you have small children, this solution will disappoint.

But even without children, such furniture will absorb odors and gradually become greasy if different dishes are regularly prepared in the kitchen.
