Furnishing a small bathroom is not the easiest task.
But if you approach this issue correctly, then this problem is quite solvable.
Moreover, you can do it yourself without involving designers. And how to do it, you will find out now, says Yulia Tychino .
Recommendations for arranging a small bathroom
First, decide what is more important to you – a bathtub or a shower cabin will be enough. Perhaps it makes sense to replace a bulky bathtub with a compact shower cabin. This solution will allow you to save a lot of space.
If you need a bathtub more, then you should choose a corner model. Sit-down (shortened) bathtubs are also often found on sale. But this is not the best option, since they take up a lot of space, but at the same time you will not be able to fully relax in it.
If you plan to install a washing machine in the bathroom, then in order to save space, you can install it under a wall-mounted sink. And above the sink itself, you can hang a shallow hanging cabinet with mirrors on the doors.
Their dimensions are usually 70 cm high, 80 cm wide and 10 cm deep. Such cabinets are great for storing cosmetics, household chemicals and various small items.
Lighting
Despite its modest size, the bathroom needs good lighting.
An excellent option would be a matte stretch ceiling of protein color with built-in lamps. We select their number based on the area of the room.
For a room of 3 square meters, 4 lamps with soft diffused light, supplemented by backlighting, which can be installed near a mirror or closet, will be enough.
Design
For decorating a small room, it is recommended to use only light colors - light gray, white, beige and milky colors. And as an accent, we use towels, rugs and a curtain of bright colors.
Please note: in order not to overload the interior, do not use a large number of colors. Otherwise, the interior will be too colorful. The optimal number is 2, maximum 3 colors.
For finishing the floor, it is worth choosing ceramic tiles. And for finishing the walls, you can use both tiles and paint.
The tiles should not be too large or too small - it is better to stop at a medium size. As for the mosaic, it can only be used as an accent. Otherwise, it will add a motley look to the interior, which will make the room visually seem even smaller.
Tile laying options
It is recommended to lay the floor tiles diagonally. This technique will visually enlarge the room. On the walls, we lay the tiles vertically. This method can visually increase the height of the ceiling.
