An air conditioner is not a painting or a unique decorative element, but an ordinary household appliance that should not attract much attention.

This is why it is now common practice to not just place air conditioners on the wall, but to integrate them as much as possible into the interior being created.

It is better, of course, to do this at the renovation stage, says designer Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI.

But even after the renovation, you can figure out how to hide the air conditioner. It is only important to consider some nuances.

"Ideally, place the indoor unit near the window. In this case, the condensate drainage route will be as short as possible. This is easier to install and allows you to save money," the designer said.

A 'closed' air conditioner is a bad idea, warns an expert. There are a number of reasons why this option will disappoint.

Firstly, the device will operate noisier.

Secondly, the quality of cooling will decrease. It is especially annoying when the efficiency of expensive equipment decreases.

Thirdly, the "box" will become an obstacle for some of the air. There is a possibility that condensation will accumulate, which will eventually lead to mold formation.

This effect will be observed even in cases where the air conditioner is placed behind lattice or louvered doors.

It is better to try to integrate the air conditioner into the interior using color solutions. Today, indoor units are produced not only in white. There are black or red ones, as well as golden ones and even imitation marble.

In addition, you can always repaint or decorate it by hand.
