How to furnish a small hallway: tips and recommendations

Small hallways are not uncommon in our homes.

It is difficult to choose comfortable and functional furniture for them, and it is also almost impossible to place all the necessary things.

Not enough light

It is very easy to eliminate this drawback. Wallpaper the walls in white or light color and take care of good lighting - install the main light source in the center of the hallway, and additional lighting (ceiling lamps) along the perimeter of the ceiling.

It is also advisable to install wall lamps next to the mirror and above the cabinet.

Narrow and cramped

You can visually increase the space of a small hallway using a mirror.

There are two ways to do this: install a large floor-to-ceiling mirror along one of the walls or buy a wardrobe with mirrored doors.

Mess at the entrance

Mountains of hanging clothes, shoes placed at the entrance, bags, umbrellas - all this creates the impression of disorder. The best option is to put all the clothes in a closed closet.

If this is not possible, then decide what clothes you wear regularly and what you wear occasionally.

Put away the clothes you wear occasionally in the closet. Leave only the most necessary. The same applies to shoes. They should not stand at the entrance and certainly not along the wall. Install a small shoe rack.

If space does not allow, it makes sense to purchase an ottoman or bench, under which a place for storing shoes is arranged. A separate place should be equipped for storing bags and umbrellas - all things should be in their places.

Storage of small items

To avoid having to look for keys, gloves, scarves and other small items every time before leaving the house, store them in a drawer of a closet or nightstand.

And to store your keys, you should buy a key holder, thanks to which all the keys will always be in their places. You can also install a small shelf for storing brushes and shoe care products.
