An interior in dark tones comes to the rescue of those who are tired of classic white or beige shades.

Some are skeptical about this option. But behind the preconceived notion of a too gloomy interior are hidden interesting accents that will make the home cozy and unusual.

A comment on this topic was shared by the expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, designer Yulia Tychino .

Colors

The first secret is to choose not only dark but also deep colors. They help to favorably shade the furnishings.

When creating a dark interior, it is worth paying attention to deep green, burgundy and dark gray colors for the walls.

In this case, the decor is chosen brighter. Contrast will eliminate excessive gloom and overload.

Materials and textures

Dark wood is an integral part of this interior option. It is better to use natural wood, but stylized wood in wenge shade will do as well.

For this occasion, both vintage and modern furniture made in a retro style are suitable.

The presence of metal elements is possible. These can be, for example, twisted handles and legs, furniture "under copper", matte black metal and gilding.

Lighting

This issue deserves special attention. Correctly selected lighting will help to correctly place accents and will highlight the unique design even more advantageously.

You can use pendant wall lights and soft local lights from floor lamps. Decor can also become an element of lighting.

Plants

Another important component of a dark interior, plants will add brightness and life to the space.

You can use fresh flowers, dried flowers, and artificial decor.
