How to arrange a sleeping area in a one-room apartment: a designer recommends using these techniques

Designing a sleeping area in a one-room apartment is a challenging task that requires a creative approach and the ability to make optimal use of limited space.

First of all, you need to determine where exactly the bedroom will be located.

The best place for this is the corner of the room, as far away from the entrance as possible. This will create the feeling of a separate sleeping space, says Yulia Tychino .

Place a bed, bedside tables and a small wardrobe there. To visually separate the bedroom, you can use a screen, shelves or curtains.

To create a cozy bedroom, it is important to choose the right color scheme. It is better to avoid bright, flashy colors in favor of calmer shades. Soft blue, beige, and light gray look good. Choose bed linen, carpet, and curtains in the same color palette.

To make the bedroom look more spacious, free it from unnecessary things and furniture. It is better to place the bed not close to the wall, but a little further away. You can hide containers for storing bed linen and blankets under it. Instead of bulky nightstands, use elegant bedside tables on legs.

Lighting plays an important role in creating a cozy atmosphere in the bedroom. In a one-room apartment, there is no possibility to make separate lamps for the common room and the bedroom.

Therefore, use wall sconces and floor lamps that can be turned on separately. The bed should have lamps on both sides for reading before bed.

A diffused light source in the form of a wall sconce or ceiling chandelier is a must. Choose lamps with subdued light that will not irritate the eyes.

It is good to use LED strips to create a soft glow. They can be placed behind the headboard, under cornices or shelves.

Add live plants to your bedroom - they will not only decorate the interior, but also purify the air.

Place small flowers on bedside tables or hanging planters at the head of the bed. Aloe, chlorophytum, balsam, and asparagus are suitable for the bedroom.

Soundproofing is also important for a comfortable sleep. Hang rugs or tapestries on the walls, lay a fluffy pile carpet.

You can use special sound-absorbing panels. And for windows, it is better to choose thick curtains that will softly let in light, but protect from extraneous sounds.

To give the bedroom a finished look, pay attention to the decor and textiles. Hang a painting, photo or panel in a calm color scheme on the wall of the headboard. Decorative pillows on the bed will decorate the interior.

It is very important to choose the right bed linen - it should be made of natural fabrics that are pleasant to the body. Cotton or linen will provide a comfortable sleep. The blanket and pillows should also be filled with natural filler.

Don't forget about a comfortable bed mattress. Give preference to orthopedic models with a medium degree of hardness. For a small bedroom, a single or one and a half size will do.

If space allows, you can put a low chest of drawers in the bedroom for more storage of clothes and linen. And instead of bedside tables, use small tables on wheels - they are easy to move if necessary.

The main thing is not to be afraid to experiment and take a creative approach to zoning the space. A properly organized bedroom in a studio can be functional, aesthetic, and cozy.
