The Husky breed is famous for its energy and friendliness. This is what attracts many people to it. Therefore, people often ask themselves: "Should I get one for myself?"

If you live outside the city or have a private house, then there will be no particular problems. But what if you keep it in an apartment? Here a number of problems arise.

Overactivity

As already mentioned, this is a very active breed. Therefore, if you took a husky as a puppy, then be prepared for everything to be chewed: shoes, a sofa, clothes that you left somewhere.

As an adult, a dog can even chew on an interior door. Even this sometimes happens.

In addition, they love to play and run, but there is too little space for this, which is why the dog often needs to be taken out for a walk for a long time.

Heat

It is often much hotter in our apartments than outside and this is bad. Huskies were bred in Siberia, which is why they have a two-layer fur coat, which allows them to feel comfortable even at -20. Therefore, in the heat they need to be cooled somehow.

Molting

As mentioned above, their fur coat is solid, hence the regular large shedding. Most likely, your entire apartment will be covered in fur during this period.

Knowing all this, think about whether you really need a husky, and whether you will be able to provide all the conditions that it requires if you keep it in an apartment.
