Often cat owners notice that their pets have watery eyes.
And if an animal has only one watery eye, the reasons that lead to this are not so easy to establish.
Why does a cat have watery eyes?
The reasons for your pet's illness may be as follows.
For example, a cat may suffer from blocked tear ducts due to old age or a serious health problem (tumor).
The eye can also water due to contamination and irritation. When a speck of dirt, dust or a small insect gets into the animal's eye, this also leads to watering.
In addition, the animal, like people, is susceptible to conjunctivitis. The same applies to cases when the cat receives a mechanical injury, for example, during a fight or playing with another animal.
Another cause is glaucoma, which increases intraocular pressure and causes lacrimation.
If the tears from the eye have an unusual color, and the cat itself is lethargic and looks sick, do not delay a visit to the veterinarian under any circumstances and take your pet to the doctor as soon as possible.
