Cat owners have probably noticed more than once how funny their cats chirp while sitting on the window.
This is the reaction cats have when they see birds on the street.
Let's figure out what these unusual sounds mean.
Why does a cat chatter?
It is no secret that a cat is a predator. And it perceives any bird first of all as its potential prey.
The same thing happens in nature: a cat chatters before attacking its prey. In this way, the predator calms its prey and tries to pretend to be like it.
The cat chirps victoriously even when it has already caught a bird and is preparing to have a snack with it.
If in the first case the chirping of the predator is a deceptive maneuver, then in the second case the chatter is the sound of victory.
It is noted that the cat chirps not only when it sees birds. The same reaction is caused by rodents and even large beetles, which it can hunt.
Earlier we wrote about why cats are afraid of a spread hand.
