Pet owners have probably noticed how an animal can stare at a person from time to time.
Dogs also love to follow their people around.
Let's figure out what motivates our smaller brothers to behave this way.
Why does a dog stare at its owner?
It is believed that there are at least 4 reasons that explain a dog's intent gaze at a person.
The first reason why a dog does not take its eyes off you is that it wants something from you and is thus trying to attract your attention.
A fixed gaze can also mean either love for you or aggression. In the first case, the search for your gaze is just an expression of love from the pet.
And if the dog's ears are erect and slightly tilted forward, there is a grin, the pupils are dilated and the tail is raised - then the intent gaze becomes an expression of aggression.
Another reason is that the dog is looking for directions from you. That is, the dog is waiting for you to command where to go.
