Hamsters are quite clean, but sometimes it happens that the pet has to be washed, its nails trimmed and its hair combed.
Many rodent owners have never washed or brushed their hamsters, and may be faced with the problem of whether this can be done and how to do it correctly.
How to Bathe and Brush a Hamster
It is not recommended to wash hamsters under water. Rodents successfully lick themselves, and they need to be washed only if they get seriously dirty.
When bathing, it is strictly forbidden to wet the hamster's head; only the body is washed.
After washing, you need to dry the animal's fur immediately, otherwise a cold cannot be avoided.
After washing, you can start combing. This procedure is important if the hamster has long hair.
A toothbrush, a doll's comb, or a brush with wide teeth can be used as a comb.
Brushing short-haired hamsters is not required, but if desired, it is convenient to do this with a dry toothbrush.
