With proper training, the animal is able to follow commands almost like a dog and sit in your arms.
However, it is important to know how to accustom him to hands.
Stage one
At first, you shouldn't disturb the rat. To get the animal used to you, put something in the cage that smells like you - for example, a piece of a T-shirt, a sock, etc.
It is important that the cage is nearby, and that you constantly communicate with the animal so that it remembers your voice.
Stage two
You will need a long-sleeved shirt and a T-shirt underneath. Using your gloved hand, take the animal out and slide it under your shirt.
Try not to pay attention to the rat's journey through your body. And if the curious little animal sticks its muzzle out of your sleeve, treat it to something tasty.
Stage three
Let the animal run around the apartment and stay nearby. Don't worry that it will run away: just leave the cage open with food inside, and the fugitive will return after a while.
Stage four
Now it is important to lure the rat with a treat that it will not be able to drag into its cage. Use a bowl of sour cream, the smell of which will definitely tempt the animal and make it leave its shelter.
Then you can dip your fingers in the treat so that the animal will form an association that it will only get the treat when it runs up to you and sits on your hand.
