Unlike other types of public transport, transporting pets on the metro is very different.
Therefore, before heading to the subway with your beloved dog, remember the rules for transporting him.
Rules for transporting dogs in the metro
The main rule for transportation is the dimensions of the animal. For example, in the Moscow metro, you can transport your pet in a special carrier if its dimensions in the sum of their dimensions do not exceed 120 centimeters.
The carrier must also meet the following requirements:
- be safe for others, that is, do not have sharp edges or protruding rods;
- be strong enough so that the animal, having applied force, could not get out of it;
- have ventilation holes so that your pet has something to breathe.
It is clear that if we are talking about a compact Chihuahua or Yorkie, there will be no questions. However, you cannot transport a St. Bernard or a German Shepherd in this way.
Dogs on a leash are allowed in the metro only if the animal is a guide dog and accompanies a disabled person.
