Every caring owner wants his pet to be healthy and happy.
One of the key aspects of a dog's health is proper nutrition.
It is important not only to choose quality food, but also to know which treats you can give to your four-legged friend and which ones are best avoided.
Apples
Apples are a great choice for dogs because they are crunchy, high in fiber, low in calories, and help prevent bad breath. Core the apple to prevent choking, and remove the seeds, which are poisonous.
Bananas
Bananas are rich in magnesium, potassium and fiber, so they are another great treat for your dog. Don't give your dog too much, just a few pieces, otherwise he will have to deal with gastrointestinal upset for the rest of the day.
Berries
Berries can be given to dogs in small quantities, as they are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber and contain few calories. It is better to give your pet fresh berries, rather than canned or dried ones, which often have added sugar.
Broccoli
Broccoli is rich in magnesium, sodium, potassium, and vitamins K and C. It is good for your dog's immune system, bones, hormones, and metabolism.
Corn
Corn is non-toxic and is often used as a filler in dog food, and is also an excellent source of carbohydrates and fiber. It is best to feed your pet fresh corn, as canned corn can contain unhealthy amounts of salt.
Eggs
Eggs are a healthy source of fatty acids, vitamins and protein, but you should only give your dog this treat once a week. When preparing, do not add butter or salt.
Green
Greens are an essential part of a healthy diet. Feed your dog green beans, kale, spinach, asparagus, or lettuce to provide vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
Potato
Regular potatoes contain many vitamins, minerals, and fiber that are good for your dog's immune system, vision, and skin. Feed them only peeled potatoes, boiled or baked.
Protein
The dog's body uses proteins and fats as its main sources of energy.
Without enough protein, your dog may lose weight, muscles may atrophy, and digestion may be impaired, so it is important to include healthy proteins in your dog's diet, such as eggs, peas, chicken, turkey, fish, lamb, rabbit, lean cuts of beef or pork.
The meat should be well cooked. Observe how well the dog digests it and whether it has any allergies. Lamb, rabbit or turkey are best for dogs with allergies.
Pumpkin
You can give your dog raw or cooked pumpkin. Your pet's body does not digest the seeds well, so be sure to clean it before offering it to your dog.
Tomatoes
The minerals, vitamins and antioxidants found in tomatoes are especially beneficial for dogs' skin, eyes and cardiovascular system.
Zucchini
Like many other vegetables, zucchini is a good source of fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants and is low in calories. Be sure to cook it first, as your dog may have trouble digesting raw zucchini.
