Pet rabbits may look perfectly normal but still have health problems.

However, there are a few obvious symptoms that will let you know that your pet is not feeling well.

Common symptoms

So, it’s time to go to the vet if you notice that:

  • The animal is breathing heavily. The tongue and lips may be blue.
  • The rabbit has diarrhea. The animal can die from dehydration within a few days if the cause of the loose stool is not determined.
  • The pet's ears are cold and he himself is practically motionless.
  • The animal grinds its teeth and refuses to move. This sign indicates pain.
  • The rabbit is "crying" or has snot or drooling.

In addition, the owner should be alerted by the refusal to eat.

Ignoring the symptoms listed above is not recommended, since it is difficult to independently determine what is wrong with the animal at home.
