Some owners of four-legged animals are of the opinion that a dog is an animal smart enough to walk on its own.

However, most often the decision to walk your pet on your own is made by people who are simply too lazy to walk their pet.

Before making such a decision, think about what consequences your carelessness could have for your dog.

The dangers of walking your dog on your own

Allowing four-legged animals, and not just dogs, to roam freely is fraught with various sad consequences.

If your dog never returns from a walk, the reasons may be as follows:

  • the animal was hit by a car;
  • the pet was poisoned by pest control or bait scattered by dog hunters;
  • the dog was very frightened by something and can't find its way home;
  • the pet was shot or fell into the hands of the animal control service;
  • the dog was attacked by stray dogs;
  • the dog was seized by unscrupulous breeders who resell purebred dogs;
  • the dog fell into a well or sewer.

And this is not to mention that uncontrolled walking can lead to other consequences. For example, there are frequent cases when dogs without an owner nearby attack other pets and even harm people.

And don’t forget that by letting a dog roam free during heat, unscrupulous owners become the cause of an increase in the number of stray animals.
