To prove this, experts conducted an experiment in which a dog interacted with a human partner and a human competitor.
In the first case, the person shared the animal treat, and in the second, he only showed it, but did not give the dog the treat.
In the second part of the experiment, three boxes were placed in front of the dog, one of which was empty, the second contained cookies, and the third contained sausages.
And if the dog's human companion was willingly led to the most delicious of the offered items - sausages, then the human competitor was most often led to an empty box or container with cookies.
Thus, it was proven that a dog can lie when it benefits it. The animal tried to lead its competitor away from sausages, while the pet was also ready to share with the one who willingly shared his treats with him.
