The budgerigar is a small bird that has gained popularity among bird lovers.
Often people decide to have such a pet at home, without any understanding of what foods it can eat and which ones are harmful to the bird.
What is contraindicated for budgies?
Many owners of budgerigars are captivated by two common myths, believing that the budgerigar itself knows how much and what to eat.
In fact, this is far from the truth, since, like any other pet, a bird can show interest in products that are poisonous to it.
In particular, the following are contraindicated for the budgerigar:
- bread;
- milk and other milk products, including cheese;
- meat and fish products;
- mushrooms;
- chocolate;
- alcohol;
- sugar and salt.
Canned foods, as well as any food from the human table, are contraindicated for budgerigars.
