With the arrival of warm weather, ticks begin to become active, so dog owners think about protecting their pets.

Many people resort to folk remedies, but this can lead to negative consequences.

Folk remedies against ticks do not protect animals from pests. The Moscow Agency reports details with reference to the President of the Russian Cynological Federation Vladimir Golubev.

It is noted that such products are not only ineffective in the fight against ticks, but can also worsen the pet’s health.

According to Golubev, it is better to avoid wormwood spray, vanilla or garlic tincture. Otherwise, they can harm the animal's skin and cause stomach problems.

He noted that the dog should be treated before the ticks become active. For this purpose, protective clothing and special shampoos can be used.

In addition, you can combine several products at the same time. For example, you can use a jumpsuit and drops on the withers.

The RKF president also recommends vaccination against piroplasmosis. It will help to cope with a possible tick bite more easily.
