VTB warns of new insidious form of fraud
Fraudsters have changed their approaches to studying the victim.
They moved from a generalized summary of habits to a detailed analysis.
Now they are using more sophisticated forms of deception, Deputy Chairman of the Board of VTB Georgy Gorshkov told RIA Novosti .
He explained that the scammers record the voices of colleagues or bosses and closely study the victim’s surroundings.
If previously the preparation was carried out at a general level, now close attention is paid to it.
Gorshkov noted that information about every person can be found on the Internet.
According to the deputy chairman, the main problem for fraudsters remains the behavior of potential victims.
Sophisticated forms of deception appear when fraudsters begin to study the lifestyle, work environment, voices of colleagues and bosses.
Gorshkov noted that, given the variety of fraudulent attacks, one must always use common sense when talking to strangers.
