A doctor and TV presenter named categories of people who do not need to take vitamins.
Alexander Myasnikov warned that in some cases vitamins can be harmful to health.
Synthetic vitamins from pharmacies, which are sold separately, as well as multivitamin complexes, should not be taken by healthy people, the doctor said in an interview with NSN .
The expert singled out pregnant women, alcoholics and patients with chronic diseases. In these cases, the issue is considered on an individual basis and requires a specialist opinion.
Completely healthy people should avoid taking synthetic vitamins in order to avoid problems.
Myasnikov emphasized that the consequences may vary. As an example, the doctor cited a study that showed that people who took vitamin A intensively very often died from lung cancer.
Pregnant women should not take vitamin A at all, as it causes fetal deformities, the doctor warned.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health reported on the condition of patients with botulism.
