The Altai Republic is planning to introduce a tourist tax for individuals and organizations.
Payments will have to be made by those who provide temporary accommodation for people.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to information provided by the press service of the Altai Krai government.
It is noted that this measure will come into force on January 1, 2025, with the proviso that it will only affect those facilities that are included in the register of classified accommodation facilities.
According to preliminary data, the tax will be 1%, but not less than 100 rubles. Subsequently, the authorities plan to increase the payment amount to 5%.
The need for payments will affect individuals, as well as companies that provide temporary accommodation for tourists.
The introduction of this measure will allow the Altai Krai budget to be annually replenished by 134.2 million rubles.
Government officials clarified that the decision to adopt the tax and assign benefits rests with local municipalities.
