The First Deputy Chairperson of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection commented on preparations for sending first-graders to school.
According to the parliamentarian, it is necessary to introduce a so-called unified set for first-graders in Russia.
Tatyana Butskaya made this statement while speaking at the international multimedia press center “Russia Today”, RIA Novosti reports.
The parliamentarian emphasized that the State Duma is working on the issue so that parents of every child going to school for the first time can count on a single set for a first-grader. Such measures are necessary to relieve the financial burden on families.
Butskaya reminded that a unified set for newborns has already been introduced, so a similar set for first-graders is being developed.
According to Rosstat statistics, getting a child ready for school for the first time is now 7.1% more expensive than last year. Parents of a first-grader will have to pay around 32.1 thousand rubles, and if they are sending a girl to school, it will be even more expensive.
